Hi i have one disk on my laptop with 3 partitions
2 unalocated partitions and one 11.08Gb partition with the os on it.
My disk somewhere along the line has become dynamic and i want to make it basic again to make it a primary disk.
I can't delete this volume with the os on so am unable to make this disk into a basic disk.
Can someone please advise me on how to make this disk basic again.

I'm also having trouble with a 500gb disk that has become a dynamic disk! I read Brink's tutorial about using Disk Maintenance to convert back to a basic disk but I don't like the sound of deleting each Simple partition! If I deleted them surely my operating system programs etc will be lost? Or have I missed something?
If I may download your Partition Magic from your site, will it do the conversion and leave my files intact?
I have C:\Windows 7 64 bit, D:\Recovery E:\HP_Tools and SYSTEM (no drive letter) and I'm concerned that I will lose everything!
I have attached a screenshot. Please note that I have now deleted G:\Backups so that is now unallocated space.

As always, a backup is an excellent idea. If you can, just to be safe, copy all your most important files to another place.
I haven't heard any reports of Partition Wizard messing with the files, but anything can happen. If all goes according to plan, it won't mess with your files.
Just for your information, that is an older version of Partition Wizard that is no longer available online. I uploaded the copy I have installed to my SkyDrive, so people I give a link to can still download it.

Unfortunately, the Professional version is not free. If you wanted to purchase it, I will not discourage you. I don't know what the unregistered program can do.

I have now purchased the Pro version, that wasn't a problem.
What is a problem is that I have now converted back to a a basic disk but when I try to use the unallocated space to create another partition it says there are no more spare MBR slots on the disk!
I seem to remember this is what happened initially after I shrunk the disk to create space.
How can I create a logical partition ?

No, I keep getting Partition Wizard cannot create a partition here. There are no free MBR slots on the disk.
I created free space which then allows the Create command to be used but I then get that message when I try to Create. The free space is shown as Logical.
