    Hi electro,

The current free version of PW (v5) doesn't support that function.

Unless you can find the previous version v4.2.2 of PW, there are currently no free apps. that I know of which will convert Dynamic disk to Basic without data loss.

Here is Partition Wizard 4.2: Partition Wizard Home Edition 4.2 - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com

I encourage everyone to keep it on hand; we don't know how much longer it will be online.

    Nice try Johnathan.

When you click the download link - you actually get the latest version - v5.

Hello Electrosol, and welcome to Seven Forums.

How about doing OPTION TWO in the tutorial using a command prompt at boot instead?

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn
Thanks Shawn, that is the only thing that worked. Good old prompt saved my back one more time..

Is there a limit on partitions you can create on a basic disc? Because now that i try to create a data storage partition with the unallocated 250 gigs i have left win7 tells me that the disc is going to be converted into basic, and therefore i wouldn't be able to boot windows from other partitions..
It doesnt even let me choose from primary and logical partition.

The limit is 4 Primary partitions, or 3 Primary partitions and an Extended partition.

You must already have 4 Primary partitions. Delete one, and create an Extended partition in its place.
