I'd like to go 1 step further :
I try to get the following to work on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2012R2:
I have an old Server with a share: \\oldserver\oldshare
Now I have created a junction on a new server to that share with:
mklink /D c:\test\newjunction \\oldserver\oldshare
It works perfect - I can access this share over the junction.
Now I shared this junction: \\newserver\newshare
On my new Server I can now map a drive letter (to itself) y: to \\newserver\newshare and I can access this drive letter and get my old servers share in explorer - perfect! This is what I want.
When I now try to map a drive letter on my Windows 7 client x: to \\newserver\newshare I get an "Access denied".
The share rights are set to "everyone" and "full".
On my new server AND on Wwindows 7 client I have activate SymLinkEvuation für "local->local", "local->remote", "remote->local" and "remote->remote", so all 4 ones are activ.
Any idea how to get this to work?
