Hello Gbeezy, and welcome to Seven Forums.

It sounds like Aero is not enabled. Double check the items in the red WARNING box at the top of the tutorial to see if any of them may apply to this issue.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Thank you for this btw. LoL can't believe it's this hard to find the Advanced Appearance Settings just to change the text sizes.

Talk about a few wasted hours trying to find what is so easy to find in XP.

You're welcome Iam918. In addition, you can use the shortcut below to make is easier to open the Advanced Appearance Settings.

Well.. not sure how I managed it, but I'm running Personify and have a theme I like, quite dark. The menus and scroll bar were still white, so I was trying to change them. Did manage to darken a few things.. then tried a different theme. Went back to original theme.. now all my drop down menus are pink.. scroll bar.. in the "active window" where it says 'Normal Disabled Selected'.. and any border or heading of the like.. HALF the PAGE on YouTube (Argh..) I've tried all the steps here and it doesn't help.. changing themes doesn't help either.. suggestions?

Hello Brooding, and welcome to Seven Forums.

It sounds like you may have changed the "color" settings for "Items" in the "Advanced Appearance Settings" window. You'll need to go through each item to see what the color is set as.

If you use an "Aero" theme, then the color settings will not be applied since they are only applied in the "Windows Classic" theme.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Brink, I'm running 7 Home Premium but can not change the title bars colors with the "Window Color and Appearance." I started with the "Windows 7 Basic theme." It works fine when I use the "Windows Classic" theme. Any ideas what is wrong or I did wrong?
