Hello Suta, and welcome to Seven Forums.

If you just wanted to restore the Explorer icon back to it's default of opening to Libraries, then you can replace the target with the command below.

    %windir%\explorer.exe

If not, then what is the program and the target path you used?

the path to execute a folder or program only works when there is no other folder opening. if there is opening folder or my computer, the windows explorer will show thumbnail of the opening folder instead of running the folder or program u set.

i have set the windows explorer to run show desktop.. so i would like to make it functional.. even when there is folder or anything open, is there a registry tweak to do this?

I'm not sure of what command you used for Show Desktop, but double check in the tutorial below for a functional "Show Desktop" shortcut to see if that may help. The Show Desktop shortcut will need to be placed to the right of the restored Windows Explorer icon on the taskbar to have all "explorer" type thumbnail preview windows show up on the Windows Explorer icon instead.

erm.. sorry maybe i didnt make it clear enough.. ignore the show desktop that i mentioned. for example in your tutorial you provide a shortcut command to run calc.exe. so by clicking on the windows explorer it will launch calc.exe. however when there is open folders, or anything that is link to windows explorer taskbar. I am not able to perform the 1 click on the windows explorer to launch the calc.exe more.. it will only show thumbnail of the folders etc.. so I wanted to know if there is a way that i could still perform the 1 click on windows explorer to launch calc.exe when there's opened folders.. etc

Ok, I understand what you mean now. You may be able to by pressing and holding the Shift key, left click on the taskbar icon, then release Shift key to open another instance of it. It may not work for every program though.

    You're welcome Suta.

Creating a shortcut of it on the desktop instead will open a new instance everytime you click on it.

Sorry. I meant, for example, to create a new shortcut of calc.exe on the desktop. This way it will open a new instance of it everytime you click on the desktop shortcut instead of having to use Shift and click on the calc.exe taskbar icon.
