I've just used the reg file to add Rich text to the context menu and NOTHIG happened.
    Windows 7 Home Basic.
in fact, I had this working fine 'till CCleanner and a new free open source Office like software installed a couple of months ago.
So, I just don't know how to get it working again...

Is there another way to fix it? Please...?

Hello Ribeiro, and welcome to Seven Forums.

The Office app most likely removed it by taking over as the default program to open RTF files. Check in Default programs to make sure that WordPad has it's defaults set to be able to open RTF files.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

    Hi Brink,

Thank you for your reply, but .rtf actually is assiciated to WordPad...

There must be a tool to help me on this issue, but I am not used to change values in Register, you know?

    Ribeiro,

Downloading and merging the rtf option in the tutorial below may be able to help. It will restore all default associations and more for the rtf file extension.

I got a file (reg) that reset the context menu and brings the NEW>RTF Document back. Go get it and give a try. I am happy with that.

Shawn, I just realised the shortcut link wasn't working on my right click menu, so I used your .reg fix and its wiped all of my other non windows entries - scan with MSE, 7zip, magiciso etc.

Anything I can do apart from system restore?

    Tom

Edit: It fixed the shortcut error though!

    Hello Tom,

Strange, it shouldn't affect other context menu items like that. Did you only use the restore New -> Shortcut REG in step 9 of this tutorial?
