    Hello grandad69, and welcome to Seven Forums. :)

    It sounds like you didn't enter the command in an elevated command prompt.

    You might see if the tutorial below to disable password expiration may work better for you.

    Password Expiration - Enable or Disable

    Hello Brink, you were right I was not in the elevated command prompt (didn't realise there was one, I was in normal command prompt). Once I followed your instructions the change worked.
