Hello Judgm3nt, and welcome to Seven Forums.
I have updated the REG files in OPTION THREE to be more thorough. Please give them a try and restart afterwards to see if that may be able to help.
Hope this helps,
Shawn

Well option 3 is for showing all the notification. That is not what I want. I go into customize and select the icon I would like to be shown. I then select show icon and notification. That works fine until I restart the computer. When the computer is restarted the notification icon that I selected to be shown reverts back to hide. Is there a solution for this? Thanks again!
Judgm3nt,
What program icon is this happening to?
Is it only affecting this one program icon, or all of them?
Well I have used the msn icon and it does show. The icon that I have to redo the whole setting is my hybrid sli mode icon. So any ideas? When I was using vista this was not happening!
Some programs may also have their own settings for how to be displayed in the notification area that will override the settings in the tutorial. If this is the case, then there's nothing that can be done about it unless the program itself as a setting that you can set in it.
You might also try resetting the notification area to see if may be able to help any.
This was really helpful Shawn....Thanks for sharing as always.....
Though i got a query on this:
even after i select "hide icons & notifications" against a particular icon on the system tray > close the app/program > restart explorer > open the app/program again to find that no affect to my settings??? Also tried by doing a restart/logoff but no use, how to get this right (eg AIMP2,Adobe Reader,Rainlander,Rainmeter etc)......?????
Hello Sunimar,
Some programs will have their own settings that will override the settings in this tutorial, and will have to be set in the program's settings instead if available.
Sunimar,
If you haven't already, right click on the tray icon to see if there may be a setting or option to not display the tray icon.
If not, then you may have one of those programs that will override this setting and always will display their tray icon and/or give notification messages. It just depends on how the progam was written.
