Haha oh man this is tiring stuff. Ok so I created the iso using the vLite and now the Windows 7 usb tool says it's not a valid ISO file. Does it need a certain name or somethin?

It needs to end in .iso Have you got file extensions showing ? If not , go to Folder Options and make sure they are.

Here's an example - see the file extension is .iso

You need to rename it if not - to anything.iso

yes I'm pretty sure they're showing. I called my ISO Windows777.iso and it's on my desktop. I used the browse button to select it and then ended up with that message

    Curious - I have never seen a problem with a vlite.iso

Try the manual method : ( just kidding - it involves commands - see the UltraIso method)

USB Windows 7 Installation Key Drive - Create

Did you make it like this?

The manual method says that I can only create a 32bit usb key using 32bit vista when I need to create a 64bit key from 32 bit vista. Maybe this has been the cause of the problem?
