People purchasing 64 bit now have a choice - think that's been the case for a while - there is a note in the tutorial.
Those who already have the 64 bit files, and those with 32 bit can still make an iso in a couple of minutes.
I did not get the error message:
WARNING: This image contains UDF file system structures.
After creating the ISO . . . should I be concerned? (I'm making my ISO from XP).
I haven't used it on XP.
See if it boots.

Ouch. I got a BSOD at about 70% complete unpacking the file.
Knew I was in "big" trouble at that point. (actually I probably should not have pressed forward w/o coming here for some advice when I saw the "reserved" partition in my laptop with recovery data. . . I wanted a "clean" install and I thought that meant I'd need to wipe that out but I chose the "other" partition). Thought that "recover" partition might save me since it could no longer boot to anything but the launch recovery (one option being to reset drive to factory). But that failed too . . .("error 41" whatever that is!)
Not throwing in the towell though. Will wipe the slate on the hard drive now for sure and start from scratch (Vista then upgrade).

Need some confirmation on the BOOTABLE dvd part...
I currently have vista 64 home premium and need to do a clean install to use W7 Professional. I purchased the W7 Pro and downloaded the ISO file to my desktop. Digital River now offers the standalone ISO .
1) I have the iso on my desktop
2) I used CDBurnerXP and selected the
- "Burn ISO Image" Option
- I then choose the ISO from the desktop and clicked burn
Primary Question
- Do I now have a BOOTABLE dvd? Or do i need to make the DVD BOOTABLE?
Secondary Questions
- What do I need to do now, how do I boot from the DVD to start my clean install?
- Once it starts to install are there any special settings I should be made aware of now instead of half way through?

I read through those but I was wondering if you could help with my post? Did i get the ISO file burned correctly to the dvd (as opposed to just burning a data dvd?). And is to be assumed that that ISO once burned to the DVD is bootable, or do I need to do something else? Again this is the Digital River delievered 64 iso file.

I am not familiar with the burning app. you are using - but Burn iso image seems correct.
The dvd should be be bootable as is.
