Hi, Thanks , but when i force the troubleshoot , it gives option recommended and it says xp sp2 as recommended settings, when i right click and select troubleshoot.
What would be the cause for this to happen? Hope i am not asking impertinent question

I'm not sure why the troubleshooter would recommend to use XP SP2 compatibility mode.

So, if there is no comp flag, in both the hkcu and hklm, then it should not show those two options. right? If those options are shown, then there is some hitch in the program only and not in window alerts. Is it?
Please reply

The options in the troubleshooter are only to select for compatibility mode if wanted.

If there's no comp flag in both the hkcu and hklm, then it's not in compatibility mode.

Hi, Thanks for reply Brink.
So it is clear that if one forces the trouble shooting when it is not in hkcu or hklm in the respected flags, then it will show the other versions to choose from, as we are forcing it to check for compatibility. or should it show, trouble shoot could not find any issue message

Hello Wukumata, and welcome to Seven Forums.

What you were wanting to set?

If you like, you might see if you may be able to set it using Option 3 instead for the application.

Some applications may not support it and have the settings grayed out.

You could try using Option 3 to set it for the app.
