Great news creat0r. Remove your battery and check under it to see if you may have a COA sticker with your product key on it.

Using this repair install is like installing windows 7 for the 1st time but preserving all the files?

Hello Canecorso,

It's like doing an in-place upgrade to the same edition that preserves most of your current installation. The yellow tip box at the top of the tutorial will help show you more on what will be affected.

Thanks for the answer. Will icons and maps on the desktop be deleted?

Nope. Nothing in your user folders will be deleted. To be safe, I would always recommend to back up anything that you do not want to be extra safe though.

Hello bladeg18, and welcome to Seven Forums.

A repair install will usually repair Windows.

Usually the drivers will be fine, but there's no guarantee. It would be best to have them ready to reinstall if needed afterwards.

Hi I tried upgrading and chose x64 bit but the compatibility says You can’t upgrade 64-bit Windows to a 32-bit version of Windows .
I tried the repair but my system driver is not showing .
Do you know any other way to fix the restart .

It sounds like you are using universal installation media. If so, that will not work. It must be the same 64-bit installation media as you currently have installed.

I'm not sure what you mean by your system driver is not showing.
