Nick,

Most likely will be the SLP key instead of the needed key on the COA.

I'd recommend what John posted above to see if the manufacturer may be able to look up your COA key.

Can I I/R W-7 Ultimate

Have a Dell laptop with W-7 Ultimate that is seriously screwed up.
The owner has a small business and has a number of programs that probably can't be reinstalled. (No disc, Expensive, etc)
Its a Dell and I have the Dell recovery OS that came with it.
Can I use the Dell DVD to do the I/R or am I screwed.

Hello Pete,

I'm afraid you cannot use an OEM recovery disc to perform a repair install with. It can only be done with retail media from within Windows.

Not an OEM Recovery Disk

The disk I have is a complete installation disk from Dell - not a recovery disk. I've already used it on my PC to create a dual boot OS.

If it's a "retail" type installation media, then you could use it if it's the same or newer version than the Windows you currently have installed.

Be sure that you are entering the key on the COA sticker and not the SLP key that it came activated with.
