Hello Gruelius,

I have not tried it on a factory OEM installation, but others have reported that using a "full retail" copy of Windows 7 Pro (in your case) has worked.

Please let us know how it went.

Hello Martin,

I've never tried it, but it would be worth experimenting with to see.

hello.
this is an extremely long thread so i hope i have not missed my Q being asked already.
i have been having random BSOD crashes, usually all traceable to a fault in ntoskrnl.exe or general mom management issues (my ram checks out ok). So i was wandering if in your opinion this repair install would be a good solution to these random crashes or if i am looking at different problems whose solution i must seek else ware.
Thank you so very much !
PS: great tutorial

Hello Fenix, and welcome to Seven Forums.

I would recommend to create a new thread and post details about your BSOD in the Crashes and Debugging forum area first to see if it may be something simple that we may be able to help fix before doing a repair install. The link below can help show you what to post there to get the most help for it.

You're welcome. Exactly. A repair install should be a last resort.

Stupid question..
What is the difference between a Repair Install and a Clean Install?
