Sleep Return Timeout for Unattended Wake Up

As a test, click on the "Change settings that are currently unavailable" link in Power Options (Option One) to see if elevating it may help.

If not, then as another test, see if doing this while logged in another administrator account will work to see if it may be an issue with just your account.

My acct is an Admin acct but I checked it to verify in the "Users" section in Control Panel.

I clicked on the "Change settings that are currently unavailable" link in Power Options and it accepted the click. Is that confirmation that my acct is seen by Windows as an Admin acct?

I haven't restarted or logged off/on since clicking the "Change settings..." line in the Power Options box.

I changed the timeout setting to a new value, after elevating the Power Options to "Run as Admin" and then logged off/on. I rechecked the Registry value but it's still set to my old setting.

I'll give the "restart" a try here shortly.

About the built-in Admin acct, how do I log into that acct? I seem to recall doing that long ago but can't remember how to do that.

Thanks for the Admin info :) . I'm sure this will come in handy in the future for numerous purposes on my PC. I added that acct.

Well, it's interesting. I tried to change the sleep timeout value while in the built-in Admin acct. The results were the same as with my regular user acct. After I changed the value from the Power Options dialog box, I logged off/on and checked the Registry setting. It had not changed.

Here's the interesting part of this:

When I change the timeout value from the Registry editor, the change is recognized in the Power Option dialog box, in the "System Unattended Sleep Timeout" option.

However, when I change the value from the Power Option box, and logoff/on , it's not changing the Registry value.
