See tutorial: Favorites - Change Default Icon

Code:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{323CA680-C24D-4099-B94D-446DD2D7249E}\DefaultIcon

Attachment 59572

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Thanks very much for the quick reply, worked perfectly.

Thanks again Shawn.

Hello Kkoz, and welcome to Seven Forums.

I'm sorry to hear that, but I'm going to need you to be a bit more specific at what part did it not work at, post some screenshots of what you are seeing instead, and any other additional information that you think may be related.

Also double check through each step to make sure that they were followed exactly.

Hmm I am at the bit where supposed to type in the new code in the modify box, but whatever I type in nothing happens, at first I thought my keyboard was broken. As if its locked to read only, I double checked I gave administrators full permissions.

any ideas?

Hello Chrysalis,

Is it giving any error message after you enter the value in the Modify box and click on OK?

Since you have 64-bit Windows 7, did you also do step 9?

If yes to all of the above, then take ownership (step 3 in Option Two if Method Two at link) of the ShellFolder key with your user account and try again to see if you may be able to afterwards.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

sorry I forgot to update, was an error on my part, I failed to notice a character is removed. So without removing the character the value is at the max length so cannot type in new characters. As soon as I removed the character I was able to type in the digit fine. I can verify the tweak works great on my system.
