How to Change Taskbar Thumbnail Previews Delay Time to Display in Windows 7 and Windows 8
InformationThis tutorial will show you how to change the delay time for how long it takes to display taskbar thumbnail previews when you hover the mouse pointer over a taskbar button for only your user account in Windows 7 and Windows 8.
TipIf you set the ExtendedUIHoverTime value in step 4C of Method Two below to a long millisecond value (ex: 10000) for the delay time, then it would effectively be the same as disabling the taskbar thumbnail previews.
NoteHaving the visual effects setting Animations in the taskbar and Start Menu checked will cause a slight delay since is causes the taskbar thumbnail preview to fade open and close.
WarningTaskbar thumbnail previews will only work if you are using a Aero Theme. This feature is not available in the Windows 7 Starter edition.
