BTW you can name the first part anything you want it does not have to be GodMode. It can be AdminMode or MyComputersSettings it does not matter.
    Hello WindowsStar,

I'm not sure what you mean. That name is not in the tutorial, but you can name the shortcut anything that like though. :)

    Hello Night Hawk,

    Dugged.
    Everyone is refering to:

    Create a new folder anywhere.
Rename the folder by pasting this name exactly as it appears (copy it first):
    GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

    Complete story here: http://jkontherun.com/2010/01/03/how...ecret-god-mode

And referring it to this Thread. I was pointing out that it does not have to start with GodMode it can start with anything.

    WOW! Everyone likes it....

I'm so glad everyone is finding my quick link to the Admin. Menu useful.
I've had this for a few months and thought everyone knew about.

Consider it a 2010 New Years Present.

It seems someone else just posted this same blog on a variation of this someone pointed me to.

The stupid title not trick is what that should be called at Stupid Windows 7 trick: unlock the secret God Mode folder

This is a far better guide right here for seeing it done right the first time then that one which tends to leave you hanging!

funny other sites call this god mode, when its called what you choose it to be called.

My problem with this tweak is that the only time I see my desktop is when I boot up my computer as whatever app I am using is always full screen. I dont want to make it a folder on one of my drives so my question is how do I make it an icon in the computer window? I tried to add it to my quick launch but it shows as a menu instead of an icon I can click on.

    Hello Chrysalis,

You can't place it in the Computer window. However, you can place this shortcut where you like to store it at, then right click on it to pin the shortcut itself directly to the taskbar instead of placing it in Quick Launch or some other folder on the taskbar.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Here I pinned the new look with a custom icon and renamed shortcut to both the taskbar and Start menu. Adding it as a button in any explorer simply won't work for this since it is too involved from the start. To add some single purpose button there like a delete button you actually have to create new keys in the system registry itself.

The image here shows the same icon used when pinned to the taskbar seen on page 1 for adding it to the Start menu. When creating a second one to show someone how to go about this the options to unpin were seen in the right click menu afterwards.

I couldn't believe someone used a pc game code as the name for this. Plus the guide seen at the link is far from complete in explaining things!

As you can see from the second shortcut created for illustrating things you can also easily remove the shortcut as seen in the right click menu there once it is pinned on either or both the taskbar and Start menu.

Doesn't work>>All Explorer Windows I open are stacked behind this shortcut instead of behind the My computer/ Libraries -icon.
