You're most welcome Vanessa, and welcome to Seven Forums.

No, the Oceanis program will never expire. It's 100% free. :)

    Program contains malware.

AVG detected IS-JKAC2.exe in the Windows directory, identified as a malware.gen a type of downloader. Detected after restart after installing.

Removed it and the program still functions.

Hello Newguy, and welcome to Seven Forums.

It's a false positive. The Oceanis program was scanned with many other AV programs and came back as clean.

    Hi Shawn,

Replacing img0 seemed like it might work - I don't have starter - so can't try it.

From the posts, it seems there is some kind of check to ensure that img0 is the original - hashcheck maybe.

Are you able to track what the oceanis app. is doing?

I don't have anything that would track every move it makes, but it passed several different AV scans by me and others with getting a red flag on it.

I'm sure that since it modifies system files to be able change the background, it could cause a sensitive AV program to flag it by mistake.

    Yes, probably.

Would be interesting to find out how it is avoiding that check.

    Windows 7 Starter

I have just bought a new Asus eeePC 1015 with Windows 7 Starter installed and could not believe that they have made it impossible for a user to personalise their desktop background - your solution is quick and simple and, so far, is working! Thank you very much.

    Hi Shawn,

If you are interested -looks like windows checks the img0 hash and if it doesn't match - deletes the desktop background registry entries - so you get a black screen.

Managed to get it working by changing permissions to stop windows doing that - username is ST :

Once you have done that - logoff and back on to get the new background.

If you want to change it at any time - put another img0 in web\wallpaper\windows, then logoff and back on.

Conclusion - you'll find Oceanis a lot easier. LOL
