Missed it by THAT much !

Thank you for sharing your advice with everyone in the forum - very kind of you. I followed your instructions precisely and actually managed to have my background in place - but only for few seconds. The stock windows background reasserted itself and replaced my choice. None-the-less thank you again for your comments - Cmdr R C Ford USN (Ret)

Hello Commander, and welcome to Seven Forums.

You might give the program at the link below a try to see if it may work better for you. It's in a different language though.

Hello Arshadmanzoor, and welcome to Seven Forums.

When you install and run the program, it will remain running at startup in the background by default.

You might try a different sized image that is closer to the same size of your screen resolution to see if that may be the issue.

Hello Rob, and welcome to Seven Forums.

It's a false positive. The program is completely clean.

What antivirus program gave you the warning?

I just tried installing this on my daughter's christmas present and my AVG notifies me that it is known malware.

So, I uninstalled it (after repeated avg malware notices) and now I can't get your little cartoon off the desktop.

    any advice?

Hello Catia, and welcome to Seven Forums.

It's a false positive in AVG. This program is completely clean and safe.

Did you restart the computer after uninstalling it from Programs and Features?

    yes, I restarted the computer

then I tried re-downloading the program, extracted files, ran the .exe and the following came up (might not be word for word):

an error occured while trying to replace existing file: wallpaperagent.exe
    delete file failed; code 5
    access is denied

so I did a system restore and I'm back to normal BUT I'd really like to add this program

    Catia,

While logged in as an administrator use OPTION ONE in the tutorial below to check to see if you may have the wallpaperagent.exe process still running. If you do, then End Task it as in the tutorial below. Afterwards, see if you may be able to install the program.
