    Shawn

Thanks for your work in helping the Win7 Starter Edition crowd with the Oceanis software. As we all know, some of the other features such as Aero snap, Aero peek, Aero shake and the transluceny effects are also disabled. I have seen softwares the claim to emulate these funtions for XP and some Vista versions but no mention of Win7 Starter edition. Personally I can't see spending another $80 to upgrade the OS when all I want is the wallpaper change which has been resolved and the transparency effect which I am attempting to resolve. Thoughts or recommendations appreciated. Keep up the good work!

You're welcome Mick. Windows 7 Starter edition is very limited (non existent) when it comes to Aero features. I have not seen anything to enable them yet, but I shall keep an eye for anything and will post back with a new tutorial on it if found. :)

    Not working

    1) I installed the program
    2) I restarted computer
    3) I tried running as Administrator
    4) UAC (aka YUCK) is turned on to the lowest setting.
    5) Don't have any other 3rd party wallpaper programs... just bought this thing less than 24 hours ago.

When I open the program and select the image I want as the wallpaper, I see it change the wallpaper in the background. When I click on "Save" the program closes and the picture I selected disappears and reverts back to the LAME pre-installed Windows 7 Starter wallpaper.

    Help.

    Desktop background won't change

I still can't get my background to change. (I have windows 7 starter too) I have downloaded Oceanis then did everything on this list:
    • Did you restart the computer after installing the program? YES
    • Do you have a modified skin or theme, or other 3rd party theme or skin program installed? <--DON'T KNOW WHAT THIS IS
    • Do you have UAC turned on? TURNED IT OFF THEN RESTARTED
    • Did you do this in a administrator or standard account? ADMIN
You might see if right clicking on the program's shortcut, and clicking on "Run as administrator" may help. ALSO DID THIS

When restartedthe @nd time after turning off UAC, the pic I chose showed up but went away when completly restarted and all desktop icons were up. How do I know if I have a modified skin or theme or a 3rd party program installed? What else could it be? Just a plain black screen for now.

Hello Heffabunns, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Double check to make sure that you have this option unchecked in the Ease of Access Center in the Control Panel.

A third party skinning program would be a program like Stardock's WindowBlinds.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn
