    How to Create a "Network" Folder Shortcut in Windows 7

       Information
    This will show you how to create or download a Network Folder shortcut that opens the Network folder.

       Note
    The Network folder provides handy access to the computers and devices on your network. From there, you can see the contents of network computers and find shared files and folders. You can also view and install network devices, such as printers.

    The Network folder is also available from the Navigation Pane in Windows Explorer.

    OPTION ONE

    To Download the "Network" folder Shortcut

    1. Click on the download button below to download the file below.
    Network_Folder.zip
    2. Click on Save, and save the .zip file to the desktop.

    3. Open the .zip file and extract the Network folder shortcut to the desktop.

    4. Right click on the Network folder shortcut, and click on Properties, General tab, and on the Unblock button. (See screenshot below)
    NOTE: If you do not have a Unblock button under the General tab, then the shortcut is already unblocked and you can continue on to step 5.

    2. Copy and paste the location below into the location area, and click on the Next button. (See screenshot below)

    Great Post

    I was able to follow this post to create the Network Folder Shortcut

    However, not being a Windows person I wondered where you got this string from
    C:\Windows\explorer.exe /e,::{F02C1A0D-BE21-4350-88B0-7367FC96EF3C}

    Thanks

    Hello JT, and welcome to Seven Forums.

    The long number is the GUID number for the Network Folder in the registry CLSID key with the explorer command to open it.

    Re: Shortcuts to e.g. Control Panel

    Better safe...
    Use then environment variable, %WINDIR%, instead of hard-coding
    '[DRIVE:][Windows] etc.

    Not all users/installations have C: as boot drive!

    -> %WINDIR%\explorer.exe /e,::{F02C1A0D-BE21-4350-88B0-7367FC96EF3C}

    Sincerely,
    Jens

    Heh, wanted to add additional info - but, it had already been thought of; just under, Related Tutorials, "How to Create a Add Network Location Shortcut in Windows 7".

    As usual, sevenforums.com/ has it all covered. xD

    Oh, btw., in the tutorial above: "Step3.jpg" is, actually, 95.2 KB (97,524 bytes), while this can be accomplished - as .PNG - somewhere close to 31.8 KB (32,604 bytes) && with *much* crispier image quality!..:)

    *like, teh 2014-10-17_23-17-07.png

    (While its .GIF would lead @ 15.9 KB (16,314 bytes) & also being transparent)

    Edit: IDK, maybe something worth a look - considering the overall bandwidth; & more importantly, the EYES?
