This is the account I asked if you enabled, did you or did it "just show up" one day.
I apologize. I misunderstood your earlier question.

I did enable that administrator icon account. Here's what happened. When I first got this laptop with Windows 7, I needed to perform some action (I do not remember the details) which required "administrator privilege". I wasn't sure exactly what that meant, so at one of the forums (not this one -- I learned of this forum only later -- I wish now I had brought my question here first!), I asked about "administrator privilege", and was told to put the Administrator icon on the logon page, which I did. I think it involved a change to the Registry, but I may be incorrectly remembering that. The icon has been there ever since.

As suggested, this morning after restarting, I ran another full system scan by Malwarebytes, and it came up clean.

Thank you for your continued help.

    Hello again stefanmaine.

What I suggest is for you to start a new thread at the security sub-forum here at Seven Forums and include all the pertinent info concerning the MBAM scans, as I'm at the limit of my expertise with this and someone over there will be of better help; have a look at the links below; sorry I couldn't be of more help, I'll keep an eye on the new thread.

    Hi There

My friend deleted all his user accounts except for Administrator and Guest. He did not "enable" the Administrator account and therefor cant log into his PC anymore. The Guest user also wont let him log onto his PC.

Does anyone have a solution to how to enable his account?

    thanks

Hello Mithras, welcome to Seven Forums!

I'm not sure this will help or not but it can't hurt to have a go; have a look at Option Three in the tutorial at the link below; be sure to keep us informed.

Thanks for the responses. We logged in the Admin account via safe made and enabled the account. Now all is good.

Just a quick question... Why would you be able to log into disabled accounts through safe mode?

In safe mode, an administrator is always made available. If you have no administrator accounts, then the built-in account is made available, even if it is disabled. This is the only account that behaves in this manner.

    Hi there!
Just a few question (as always )
I was pretty sure to be the administrator with all the permission on my PC because I''m the only users on my PC. But I've seen that often I need to "run as administrator" (right click) to have done something.
So did a search to understand this situation:

    • am I "THE" administrator when I have the only login access with my user name that is the ONLY user on this PC? As I can see it seems to me that I'm NOT "THE" administrator because I cannot install some program that needs the complete "power"
    • So I've tried to follow this tut and I've created an Administrator account but now I've doubled my problems First of all it seems that also when I login through the new icon Administrator (and not the old one LioSeven) I'm not with all the administrator privilege (as I still cannot install for example the LSS driver) and - overall - now I have 2 account but the Administrator one is without all my personalization, my plugins, programs and so on so for me is useless.
    • Now my question is: How can be sure to have all the administrator privilege in MY normal account (LioSeven) and how can totally eliminate the Administrator icon, account at logon?

I don't want to have to select every boot where I have to login but I need to have (when I really need) all the administrator account.
This PC is managed only by myself and it's a machine for my work, so sometimes I really need to do everything. I'm not a newbie on pc (I work on it from the first one I think 20 years ago ) and I'm very careful for all the security issue. For this reason I not only have the normal antivirus, firewall and malware software, but also an hardware firewall.
And for now no virus, no malware or other problems.
So please, can someone let me know when and how I can be the administrator on my PC with all the privilege.
    Thanks a lot
    Lio

    Hello Lio,

When you log into the built-in Administrator account that you enabled in this tutorial, it will have full access along with anything you run while logged on to this account.

What does it tell you when you try to install the LSS driver?

Have you already tried to install this driver and the programs using compatibility mode in case it was some compatibility issue.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Thanks Shawn, you are always present for helping me :)
For the LSS problem I've open two 3D here in the forum but till now no solution and this problem really make me crazy.
And every new step I try, I create a new problem
I've tried to create a new user account (following this tut) named OverLio and passworded and no way to have the LSS driver installed (not enough privilege)
So I decided to remove this account and now I cannot do that because I don't have the "delete account option" (maybe from this account LioSeven my "privilege" are not enough. I can change the pass, the account name but I cannot remove it.
So I'm trying to enter in that account by clicking with Shift right click on the install LSS and then choose "Run as different user", put the user name and pass for the account OverLio but no way to do that: "Logon failure: Unknown user name or bad password" but they are the right ones
So the only think I want now is to remove this account (with administrator privilege) and try to switch on my own account LioSeven on the Administrator access not as the standard user.
But I'm really afraid to have other problems
And all this mess without any advise as you can see from my post HERE and Here
I'm also searching for the Framework problem, but I see that I may incur in other problem...........

    Any suggestion can help :)
    THANKSSSSSSSSS
