I used the Hidden Admin a few times successfully, not from the cmd prompt, but as another user with its own desktop. Now that screen is totally black and unresponsive and the only thing that works is CTL+ALT+DEL.

I also have a shortcut to use it with the Elevated command Prompt, but I don't know what to do with that.

    Hello Rochelle, :)

I'm not sure what you mean.

Do you mean to "Run as administrator" with the shortcut? If so, then you could use Option 6 below to set it to always do so.

No, I used Option #1 to set up the Hidden Admin as a separate user. It(he/she?) has its own desktop and access to the filing system, etc. But now the desktop is black and unresponsive with just the cursor. I will move to Option #6.

I don't know if that's the same admin as the one in the Elevated Command Shortcut. I've had
Win 7 only 7 months, and my eyes are glazed over from UAC problems.

You could try doing a system restore using a restore point dated before this started to hopefully undo it.

I don't know where to restore to. As this machine is only 6 months old, I've applied changes very densely.

That account is unusable as is because the screen is black. I'd rather just remove it so my machine will not ask me to choose at startup, and it will boot faster. But User Accounts is not letting me remove it.

You can't delete the built-in Administrator account, but you could see if resetting it back to default may help.

I wonder how you keep track of the hundreds of threads you have going on 3 websites, and know which need new replies. Excel spreadsheet? You posted between my 2 posts!

I'm really confused now. Can I can still access "him" through the other 7 methods if I just remove "his" desktop?

Yes, you will still be able to use the built-in Administrator after resetting it back to default, but you'll just need to enable it again first.
