Hello c1ogden, and welcome to Seven Forums.

If your edition of Windows 7 is say Home Premium, then it will not inlcude gpedit.msc or lusrmgr.msc.

You will need to right click on the command prompt shortcut and click on Run as administrator to open a elevated command prompt instead for it to work. (Step 1 in OPTION TWO)

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

    Thanks Shawn.

I tried that and got to the elevated command prompt. I entered "net user administrator / active:yes".

Now it says "The option / is unknown."

Anything else I should try? Thanks for the help!

You're close, but there is no space between / and active.

The syntax of this command is:

    username {password | *} /add [options] [/domain]
    username [/delete] [/domain]
    username [/times:{times | all}]

Hello Two Dogs, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Are you part of a domain? If so, then you may need to see your domain administrator.

I don't know what you mean by a domain. I installed this on my pc and I'm the only user. I set up a standard account, a guest account, and myself as an admin account. I still get messages from the sytem telling me that I don't have permissions.

Ah, you will need to do this while logged on to a administrator account, and right click on the command prompt shortcut and click on "Run as administrator" to be able to do this.
