Post your Start-up screen
More to come. I love the customizing so far. very exiting. Nice work M$
change the filename of the first image to backgroundDefault.jpg and make sure both are in JPEG format.
-edit-
lol, didn't realize there was already 10 pages, sorry.
hey noob but puter literate (to a point) running windows 7RC build 7100 in 64bit love it.... now the situation that brings me here is to follow!
i followed change log in screen tutorial to the "T" got the screen to come on alt control delete looked awesome...until
all looked ok now upon restart my puter froze on the starting windows screen and would not boot... and also not enter safe mode does this registry change affect other sections of the log in besides just that screen i had to restore from another disc a vista disc, by stroke of luck I am now afraid to turn my
puter off for the reason that it wont come back any thing i can do to stop this besides going back to the cheesy default screen what do you need from me to help diagnose this issue
Hello Studiorat, and welcome to Seven Forums.
Nope, it doesn't affect anything but the log on screen background image. The worst that would happen is that you would have a black blank log on screen instead if the image you set at the log on screen was not correct as per the tutorial.
Not sure what may be causing it, but if it continues, see if doing a Startup repair may help.
hmmm, Doesnt seem to be working for me, i folowed instructions and went over them 3 times, yet still no change to my logon screen.
any ideas?
Hello Daniel,
It still works in the new RC and leaked 7127 build for me. Double check to see if you may have any typos, double file extensions in the name if file extensions were set to be hidden in Folder Option, and you might try a smaller screen resolution size for the backgroundDefault.jpg file.
Hope this helps,
Shawn
Hi,
I wrote yet another windows 7 logonUI wallpaper changer
This one is different from the others, because it asks admin rights only the first time you apply a wallpaper (and it also have a very nice 3d/WPF based UI)
Windows 7 Logon Background Changer (Julien-Manici.com)
Hope you'll like it.
