Thanks for the post, really useful.
    But, I have a problem.
I messed up some permissions with Windows folder and that could be a problem.
I cannot update my video driver, I cannot install some game.
And all programs for changing WIndows 7 Logo problem do not work.
Either permissions denied or some other error.
So, I tried to change in manually.
Downloaded REG file, imported ok, created folder, put files.
    backgroundDefault.jpg
    background1920×1200.jpg
    background1280×1024.jpg
    background1024×768.jpg
I put the files on both folders, just to be safe: C:\Windows\system32\oobe\ and C:\Windows\system32\oobe\info\backgrounds\
    The picture is some landscape.
My default resolution is 1920x1080 LCD TV primary display, 1280x1024 monitor secondary display.
Now, here's the problem: restart computer, the logon picture is Gillian Anderson !!!
I remember I have used Gillian Anderson a while wgo, when I first found a program for changing logon image. It worked, yhen I change it back to default, them messed up the permissions and forgot about it.
Now, where' the picture with Gillian Anderson and why doesn't it work the one I used now (landscape)?
    I have Windows 7 x64 build 7600.

    Hello Queensoft,

I'm not sure why you were changing the permissions, but you could do a system restore at boot using a restore point (if available) dated before you did this to undo everything.

Afterwards, I would recommend using the program in Option One to make it safe and simple to do.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn
