    Reg value UseOEMBackground?

Thank you for this page. :)
I've got my Windows 7 PC to display an image of the Windows 95 strartup image.
Image edited to say 'Windows 95-88'.

What dose the 'UseOEMBackground' registry value at
    'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System' do?

Your Win7LogonBackgroundChanger.exe file edits this registry value.

Hello Mark, and welcome to Seven Forums.

The REG download in OPTION TWO changes the value data for the UseOEMBackground registry entry to allow you to be able to change the log on background screen using the rest of the steps. That's all.

The program in OPTION ONE edits this value as well. :)

    Hi Brink,

I'm using 7 x64 ult. now and I love it. This will be my main OS.

I did this change the log-on screen with your first option, worked perfect. Thanks.

How did you take a screen shot (and scale it) of your finished log-on screen ?

    You're most welcome Kem. :)

I used a virtual machine, and took a screen shot of it.

Thanks Brink bro, working fine for me... i was just wondering if this cud be done without downloading that reg file... can't this be done by manually editing the values in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\LogonUI\Background directory? :-/
One more question, how do i take a screenshot of the ctrl+alt+del screen? I tried using the print screen key but it dint work...

    Hello Cpu11,

Yes, you could manually edit the value in the registry instead if you like. I just had a REG file in the steps to help simplify and make it easier for folks to do.

I used a virtual machine to be able to take a screenshot of the ctrl+alt+del screen.

I suppose that you could use a digital camera to take a picture of it and upload it into your computer to use, otherwise no.

OPTION TWO in the tutorial on the first page can show you how to do so manually. Using the program in OPTION ONE is the easiest way though if you like. Everything I post is 100% safe.

It seem that people are having problems with this. I'm not going to play with this options. I wish there was a EASY way to do it, so people don't have problems with it.
