Thanks for the great walk through, still having a problem though...

The desired image (the logon screen that came with my Alienware machine) is in the appropriate folders, but I am still getting that ugly leafy logon screen when I reboot or use Ctrl+Alt+Del to view changes... it is the only image in those folders and it has the correct name.

    Any ideas?

Hello HousieMousie, and welcome to Seven Forums.

You might consider using the program in OPTION ONE to make doing this easier. It is a standalone program that does not install on your computer. I assure you that it is a safe program to use. :)

Thanks, Brink. How sad, something I used to do so easily on 98SE, and XP, now requires a special program on W7. lol And people wonder why I like Linux.

Thanks again, Brink, I will give that a try.

Strange. He must be having some sort of temporary problem. I added a download button for the latest Windows 7 Logon Background Changer 1.3.4 version.

Excellent, worked flawlessly. Never resets even with slide show wallpaper and changing themes. Thank you! Gotta love these tweaks that don't require extra programs or extreme editing.
