6. Open the Windows Mail folder and right click on the WinMail.exe and create a shortcut.
When you get to this step can you double click on this file and start the program. If so and a icon appears on the task bar just pin it there
If it doesnot open the program then you did not use the correct vista files?

If I double click the WinMail.exe file nothing happens? Those were the only files I had to use, I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit, so I guess i'm just out of luck, Thank you for your help.

Hi,

could someone kindly advise me what are my possibilties now.
I know I had a problem at the start, like some other people on here, but assumed I got it sorted.

So any suggestions please.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Neil, I just downloaded Office 2010 Beta and I'm using Outlook 2010 for my e-mail, it works great, maybe you should try it? I couldn't get Windows Mail to work in Win 7 either.

Feature changes

After using Windows Mail and Windows Live Mail (the version for 7), I think the Live edition is better suited for Windows Live accounts. I couldn't setup hotmail in Windows Mail. Good tut. though.

Windows Vista Mail in Windows 7

Thanks for this explanation.

When finished the steps I tried to start Winmail but get the following error:

*******************
Winmail.exe
(0x8007000E)

OK
********************

It is shown in a box.

Can you give any hint about what is wrong here?
I think it has to do with memory but I don't know how.

Hans.
