Wow thats great news mutant. Thanks for posting back and letting us know that you solved this. SF has very good tutorials. Also if you search this forum you can find almost any problem concerning windows 7 that has come up since the beta. I hope you enjoy 7.

I use Win Live Mail desktop, I did the easy transfer program and It transfered all my mail from my isp account that I had folders of in the 7 rc install that I had going. Not sure if it could help you but you might try to save your mail with Windows Easy Transfer to a external drive. Then do the tutorial to restore Windows Mail. Then do the transfer. The easy way around that is to rename the whole folder and then just add the new folder from Vista and leave the other one as a backup.

You might consider using Windows Live Mail instead since Windows Mail support is fading and will not be supported at all in Windows 7 by Microsoft.

I have tried this twice now to the letter and cant get it to work, I have copied it all over etc, set the shortcut but when i try and open it it just takes forever and looks the computer up - please any ideas - as i love windows mail and dont want to go any other way!

*** update - could it be that my vista is 32 bit and w7 64 bit?

Id really like to use w7 but this is putting me off, if it is that I need a 64 vista win mail file, please can anyone share one with me. Thank you
