Sometimes, we are left with a blank our desktop as the icons will not appear. However, we will be able to access the Task Manager using CTRL + SHIFT + ESCAPE OR CTRL + ALT + DEL

    * We can select 'New Task > Run' which will give us the command prompt. From the DOS command prompt, we can access the System Restore using the following commands:

    • RSTRUI : opens Tool System Restore (Windows 7/Vista only)
    • %WINDIR%\SYSTEM32\RESTORE\rstrui.exe: opens Tool System Restore (for XP only).

Hello Contractor, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Sorry but Dr Watson is not a feature in Vista or Windows 7 anymore from XP. Instead Windows 7 uses the Troubleshooting feature in the Control Panel.

Here's a shortcut for it as well. :)

    Troubleshooting Shortcut - Create

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn
