Hi Shawn,
Yes you really helped:)! All I had left to figure out was that I had to click on properties in order to set the wake computer flag. Thanks again.

The fact that Windows Backup and Restore cannot support multiple schedule tasks is why I went back to using Acronis. Creating an image and a backup takes too much time and chews up disk space and I prefer to store my image separately from my backups.
One possible solution would be to schedule command line tasks for B & R - can you initiate a backup via a command line?

Now that I have backup working reasonably, I keep getting an error that a folder on a volume was skipped because it can't be found...it was one I backed up a while ago but since then I have removed that volume and moved the folder. How can I get Backup to stop looking for that volume/folder? I have re done the settings in Backup to choose the drives and folders to backup, but it keeps looking for that missing volume. (not listed or selected in the Backup settings). Is there a reg key that I can edit to remover that entry? thanks...
I didn't know you could do an incremental system image...
For a full featured backup program try Syncback free or Syncback SE.
One question I had: if the computer is off when it's scheduled to do a backup, will it do it right after you turn the computer on?
Hello Rad,
You might see if resetting Backup using the method below may help.

Hope this helps,

The following quote from Windows Help and Support seems to imply that you can move the backup:
"If you have an existing system image for a computer and are creating a new one for the same computer, the new system image will overwrite the existing one. If you want to keep the existing system image, you can copy it to a different location before creating the new system image by following these steps:Your experiences tells you differently?
- Navigate to the location of the system image.
- Copy the WindowsImageBackup folder to a new location."
