Hello 3timesoccermom, and welcome to Seven Forums. :)

If you have any sticky notes opened, you will need to log off and log on to apply after changing the DWORD below to 1.

Brink thank you for taking the time to reply but I changed it to 1, then re-booted my computer and it did not work. I created a new sticky note and hit the "x" and it was deleted with no warning.

Does the PROMPT_ON_DELETE DWORD still show being set to 1?

Just to verify, are you running the stikynot file for Sticky Notes? I only ask in case you may have installed and using a 3rd party Sticky Notes type program instead.

I'm running the one that came on the computer. I am not very savvy about these things so not sure how to tell that.

I just noticed the value for the "prompt on..." is now back on 0. Not sure why.

As a test, change it back to 1, but only log out and log in instead of restarting the PC to see if it will stay set to 1.
