    Thanks Joan ,

I think when Shawn wrote the tut it wasn't clear exactly what the feature diifs between editions were.

I am sure he will adjust it - now you have brought it up.

My earlier post was directed at Polycue - who is looking for a Ghost alternative.

    Joan,

Its my understanding that acronis does not function in windows 7 RTM, are you using windows 7 RC?

Its also my understanding that that all versions above starter have the System Image function but 7 Pro and Ult versions can additionally save to network (and DVD?).

I understand there are issues with Acronis TIH 2009.

Oddly, I have ATI 11 and it works OK. It's just that others are better now, smaller, faster, more features - other people are building better mousetraps.

    SIW2,

Are you using the free version of Macrium Reflect and if so does it do incremental system backups?

The free version doesn't do incremental - you need the paid one for that.

Suggest you try the free version first - see if you like it's feel and speed and make sure it works out for you.

The app is tiny - not some 200mb plus monster, so if you are interested in checking it out - it's easy to d/l and install and goes like a rocket.

If you like it and then want the full version - I believe it will increment on the backups you already made with the free one.

They do a 30 day money back trial of the full version.

Can you clear something up for me, what version of Windows 7 is the backup program in.
I know in Vista that you can backup files and folders in the Home Version but for a Disk Image you needed the Ultimate version, is this the same in Windows 7 ?
