Thank you dear brink. As the last question in this case, may you please tell me what do you mean by "a separate hard drive"?
Is it a separate partition? For example I have only one HDD and three partitions on it (c, d and e). Is that E drive a separate hard drive which you are telling about?

It's to mean for a separate physical hard drive, and not a separate partition on the same hard drive.

No a separate hard drive is a separate physical drive either internal or external. The reason for this is that a mechanical fault to the drive may affect all partitions on it.

OK, but I don't have any more HDD. So what should I do? Storing the image on that partition (E) isn't a correct work as a remedy?

External USB connectd HDDs are relatively cheap these days. I would strongly recommend that you get one. In the meantime storing the image on E would only be an interim solution.

    Kurdman,

You could save the system image to your E: partition, but if the hard drive should fail, it'll take out both Windows and your system image since they are both on the same hard drive.

It would be best to get yourself another hard drive to use to save system images and backups to. This way if your Windows hard drive should ever fail on you in the future, you'll still have everything on the other hard drive to restore from.

    Another question:):
If I use that E drive to restore my broken Windows OS which is on my C: drive, the C: drive will be overwritten by that image but does that E: drive also will be erased after installing image into the C: drive? I think no, is it correct?
Both C: and E: are in same HDD.

No. Only the partitions in the image will be overwritten.
