Step 6 was dangerous for me. My system did not boot. I had to do a lot and spend about 4-5 rebuilt boot rec through BCDRec. One website explained what exactly I needed. Not sure what went wrong in my case. Be careful folks.

Hello naveenpn, ![]() Step 6 in Option 1 is to make the change permanent instead of temporary. What did you set your max memory to? Normally, you want to leave the Maximum memory box unchecked (default) for Windows to use all installed memory. |

how to configure windows 7 Pro to utilize maximum memory I recently upgraded my memory to 18 gigabytes. svchost.exe use huge amount of memory hi, i have win 7 enterprise 64b new image installed and i see that there are many svchost services, but one of them takes more than 120K on startup. is it normally ? Thanks |

Making more use of my large amount of memory I have 4gb of ram installed. Windows 7 says it exists so I think it's set to go. What's annoying is that the computer never uses more than say 1.5 GB of memory.
