    Hello Thoger,

You can use your Windows 7 installation disc to get to the "System Recovery Options". If you do not have a installation disc, then you can create a repair disc (download option) to use instead. Afterwards, you might see if doing a system restore using a restore point dated before this problem may be able to fix it.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Brink, Another option, which I use, is to put WinRE.Wim on a bootable PE memory stick. The procedure is highly similar to making a minimum PE USB stick. If it willl be of interest, I'll send a couple of .docx files giving a detailed, step-by-step. I've not read up on how to attach a file for upload to this forum and whether such is even permitted. Karl

Brink, Here goes an attempt at including two .docx attachments.

    Brink,
Looks like that didn't work. Have saved as .doc files and will try to attach them.

Hi, thank you verry much for the tutorial BUT I'm stuck at Step 4.

"Copy Install.Wim from your product DVD. M: represents your DVD drive.
    COPY M:\Sources\install.wim C:\OSimage"

Because there is no "Sources" folder in the DVD, and no .Wim files ...

    Please help me.

I've downloaded and run the Windows 7 AIK (it's about 1700mb, and it's in French).

    Cheers.

    Hello Ryan,

I'm sorry, but which tutorial are you referring to? That step is not in or related to the one on the first page.

I'm talking about the .doc posted on the first page (not the first message), where it talks about installing it on USB. Cause I have a windows 7 starter netbook, and can't use my dvd.

Finally all the steps worked, but when I run it, I just got the CMD.

I don't know how to fix the boot, I tried the nt60 ... it seemed to work but it didn't, when I restart the computer it doesn't work.

I'm sure Windows 7 is still ok, the problem is the boot.

It says : Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key.

    Ryan,

See if this may be able to help you fix the MBR.

MBR - Restore Windows 7 Master Boot Record
Hi, the problem is that I had to put all this on a USB, cause my netbook doesn't have a DVD Player.

Finally I found the solution here -> YouTube - Windows 7 - Create a System Repair Disc on a Bootable USB Flash Drive

And it's very easy, I just used my home PC and went to Control Panel -> System & Security -> Backup & Restore -> Create a System Repair Disc

Then I created the CD, and finally made a Copy -> Paste from my CD to my USB.

And to let my USB be bootable I did what is told on the video, it's very easy and it worked :)
