    Update

I got the task to run (I can't figure out why it is behaving itself now though).
Task Scheduler still reports error 0x41301, but the Process Explorer window appears and it is in Administrator mode.

The weird thing is that I have to enter a password when I try to create the task for my user account, but if I change the user to "Administrators" group, I don't have to enter any password!

Surely a user shouldn't be able to create a task for an Administrator (without entering a password)?

A "standard" user can create tasks, but it will not run for anything elevated unless they enter the administrator's password.

You might also give this a try below to see how it works for you. Only an administrator can create it, but it can be used by any type of account though.

I am using the standard pseudo-Administrator account (the one that is created when you install the OS).

If I create an elevated task for this account ("PJL"), I must enter a password.
If I change the user in the Task Scheduler (not the session) to "Administrator" or "Administrators" group, I don't have to enter a password.

I'm certain that I tried all of those combinations previously ("PJL, Administrator & Administrators" group) and nothing worked.

BTW, is there a complete list of the Task Scheduler error codes?

I found this that may hopefully help some with the error codes.

    net helpmsg (message #) command
(ex: net helpmsg 64 = The specified network name is no longer available.)

Task Scheduler Error and Success Constants

    and

Events and Errors Message Center: Advanced Search

    Thanks!

    That is amazing!

Now if I can only figure out how to get my not hidden administrator account to understand it's has admin rights.. it says it does statically on the screen but Windows 7 Home Premium is far short of the real admin account of Professional and Server from what I've been able to ascertain.

    Thanks again!

What is the difference of At Startup and At Logon? If I just do this task At Startup will the program still run?

    Hello Kevin,

It depends on which one or both you want the program to run at.

Startup = When your log on to the user account at the startup of Windows. Usually after a restart or shut down of the computer.

Log on = When you log on to the user account say after logging off, lock computer, switch user. Anything other than from at startup.

    Hope this helps, :)
