Why is it we overlook the simple things and end up getting into some complicated deep rooted experimental solutions hahaha
I would have never of thought to refresh the driver but then again when i go to hardware and devices and you see a yellow some times it is always good to delete it and refresh it and it will reinstall perfectly fine
incase anyone gets stuck(like me!)HOW TO UNMERGE NETWORKS
1) At " Network and Sharing Center " click on the network icon, at the popped up window click on " Merge or delete network location" . There you should see your network's status as "in use". Leave that window opened.
2) Go to " Network and Sharing Center" -> "Change Adapter Settings". Disable all the network adapters that are joined into your network.
3) Switch back to the " Merge or delete network location" window. Now your network's status should be displayed as "Not in use" (and when selecting that network delete button is active). Delete the network.
4) Now you can enable the network adapters that you've disabled in step 2 and it should guide you through creating new networks for each network adapter.
I am using Windows 7 Home Premium and I am connecting back into my home network via VPN. I have used the registry hack at the start of this thread to turn unidentified networks into "Work networks". My network access type still shows "No Network Access" and I can't access anything on my local network. What I want to do is to be able to access my files and browse network shares as if I was at home. I have network discovery turned on.
Any ideas?
just an update to a solution to unidentified network i used this fix 'ROUTE DELETE' method. as follows open cmd promt and
on the command prompt which you should run as under administrator login type the following:
