You may use the zip attached .... unzip and run the takeownership.reg to merge it with registry ; and it will be in your right click context menu now .

Browse to imageres.dll , right click on it , and click on take ownership .

Oh ! Dont be afraid . I dont know why , but it occurs sometimes . You need not to be afraid . Just click on OK, and everything will be as usual .

Feel free to ask for any assistance if needed . I would not be online for next few hours , but returning home I will see it .

    From India I guess ?

If yes then how to check which number on that list denotes what applications or folder type like eg you showed 'games' folder????

Sorry too many question its just little curious but don't want to mess any thing but also want to give an amazing look to my com... Yes but how did you guessed???? Hmm i guess by looking at my time....

I also wanted to know do i need both IcoFx & Resource Hacker or just any 1????
bcz in the tutorial 1st 6 steps have been explained using IcoFx & remaining with Resource Hacker....was that reason for this failure????

I guessed looking at BollywoodMotions tab there

Sorry you cannot apply different icons to different folders as they are live folders . How to change the folder icon ? OK follow this link : https://www.sevenforums.com/943862-post22.html . You are to edit 3,4,5,6 and 162 in order to do it .

Need not to be sorry foe asking a question, I told earlier that you can feel free to ask !!

ISI is a great institute btw . Wish you success in your customization , and in your career, too !!

EDIT : In the first few parts of the tutorial, it is stated how to find out the icon number using IcoFX

Well Arc it seem i still couldn't pulled this off right...
Here if you see on the left windows all icons i customize the old XP style Right click on the folder>Properties> Cutomize>Bottom Change Icon>Browse for the destination icon folder & selected & Apply & Ok. Even after all the steps these remained the same & Program Files & Windows (which i you can't change even in XP style) has also not changed.

In the right window you can see it has taken effect but not all the folder icon have changed few are still the same.

Here in the screenshot you can see the old style of thumbnail is showing like the old Windows7 style & it keep showing for sub-folder as well.

I don't know what went wrong i changed 3,4,5,6 & 162 as you said & in the same order.

Pal you need to replace it with custom live folder icons . If you like there is a few examples : See Through Folder Icon Set . But if you want that book icon as folders , you need to turn off thumbnail preview . Follow this tuto link Thumbnail Previews - Enable or Disable .

With thumbnails on, there is no way to get rid of the situation .

Apply the second link , the thumbs will not be there , but at the same time they will be disabled throughout the windows . I dont have any solution of this situation . Shawn Brink may help you more on this event .
