It is very unusual to want to use the micro sd card to store images. MS clearly does not think so as their winre does not support it. It is also a pretty unusual setup. Windows on a tablet - new bay trail processor, etc.

I can't tell how that card reader thing works. Perhaps it is one of the intel drivers.

We could put those in and see if it makes a difference.

Hold up. whs is not using winre, he would be using winpe.wim from wadk if he let macrium make it. They are not the same. Not sure if that would make a difference in this case.

Can you see the card reader if you fire up winre from the F8 thing?

In booted winre, go to command prompt, type notepad, when notepad opens click FILE> SAVE , you can use that save as dialog box to browse around.

I will also have a look at installing drivers from host in running pe. Might add that function, just in case. May be able to figure out how to do that.

I have the impression that the SD card reader is hard wired - remember we could not even find an SD card driver in Windows 8.1.

Fire up winre from the F8 "Repair My Computer" thing

In booted winre, go to ADVANCED OPTIONS >COMMAND PROMPT, type notepad, when notepad opens click FILE> SAVE , you can use that save as dialog box to browse around. You should be able to see all your attached drives.

There is no WinRE. F8 at boot does nothing. I wonder whether I should add it with these commands - not sure whather they are good for 8.1.

bcdedit /set {GUID1} device ramdisk=[C:]\Recovery\GUID1\Winre.wim,{GUID2}
bcdedit /set {GUID1} osdevice ramdisk=[C:]\Recovery\GUID1\Winre.wim,{GUID2}
bcdedit /set {GUID2} ramdisksdidevice partition=C:

I expect you have winre.wim somewhere. You wouldn't get any windows repair options if you didn't have it.
Asus may have their own modified version.

Curious. Perhaps it just isn't registered.

You might try reagentc /info at cmd prompt from within windows .

That should tell you something.

You were right. It is enabled. But they must be using another key to get into it. I have to find out.

I think it is F9. No idea what that thing at the bottom is ( see arrow). Maybe it is ctrl+F9. Hard to tell.
