No. The free version of Macrium only allows full images.

NO, these functions exist only in the Pro version. But free Paragon can do it.

    EaseUS Todo Backup Free 3.0
This free version can do both incremental and differential.
The offering is fairly new but received some postitive feedback from people on this forum. I have used it and it appears ok. If you use the normal compression setting then I find it faster than Macrium and Windows imaging. Higher compression will slow it of course.

    Query

I know we are in 7 but will the same process work in XP (SP3)- I have tried getting the Seagate discwizard and the WD one plus the useless Acronis free and the first two will not work for me - that includes my 7 machines, and the free Acronis does not include a clone feature.

Meanwhile I'll take a look at the Macrium

    Hello John,

Macrium Reflect is suppose to work in XP as well, so that one should work for you. :)

    THanks mate

Yeah Shawn I saw that after I posted but I would have done anyway as I know you and the others are really on the ball with this stuff.

Sorry for using the 7 forum again mate I'll try not to do it again.

    No go

Well not having much luck with a clone the Macrium started up ok but won't go past the initial partition - it's telling me -
"Clone failed Read failed 22 _broken pipe -m _segment To restore -> m_Filw System.Readfile failed -Write System Data failed -pData run== NULL RemapMFTRecord failed" whatever that is all about

Think I'm might give up while I'm ahead thats four different cloning apps and three days spent trying and well it's just not going to happen

I used Macrium in XP to image the C: partition. That worked perfectly. I also did a recovery a couple of times which worked as specified.

If you have several partitions, you should be able to image them in one shot. But you can only recover them one by one.
