Although Fred De Vries is still maintaining "The Ultimate List of Uninstallers", The Web Atom acquired the content of Fred's original weblog. The new site where Fred is maintaining the list is located at Uninstallers.

Hmm, looks like Microsoft makes their own trojans now. I would guesss that this is a false positive. Why don't you scan it with https://www.virustotal.com/

Microsoft did not write the 64bit tool that is linked to in the 21b.

The file that is downloaded is not digitally signed - so definitely not from MS.

VirusTotal had this scan from August 2013 as being the last date that the file had been scanned by them. Here is a current scan.

The 64bit tool is named MSE Removal Vista Win7 64.exe. It unpacks another tool which is named mssefullinstall-amd64fre-nl-nl-vista-win7.exe. As the name of that 2nd file implies, the interface is in Dutch. That file is from MS and it is the installer for MSE 1.0. The digital signature is dated 13 Sept 2009.

MSE is currently on version 4.

The wrapper (MSE Removal Vista Win7 64.exe) creates a batch file which in turn calls the MS installer with the /u switch. This does nothing more than the normal Windows uninstall process would do. The wrapper provides no additional cleanup that I could detect via Process Monitor.

    The link for 21b 64bit is: http://tinyurl.com/mse-w7vista64-rt
(be wary of any link from any URL shortening service)
    That link redirects to roytimmermans.be
I cannot find a main page for that website :-(
