How to Change Text Size Used for Webpages in Internet Explorer

This will show you how to change the text size displayed on webpages in Internet Explorer to what you would like to make them easier to read.

If you change the text size, the graphics, buttons, and text boxes will remain their original size. Only the text size will change.

Resetting Internet Explorer will also reset any text size changes you made below back to default as well.



Here's How:
1. Open Internet Explorer.
NOTE: In Windows 8, this would only apply to the IE10 desktop version, and not the IE10 Metro (Windows UI) version.

2. To Select a Font Text Size in Internet Explorer
NOTE: These settings will not affect webpages that are designed to prevent changes to text size. If you want to use your selected text size on all webpages, regardless of whether they've been specified by the website designer, you can use step 3 below to override website text size settings.
A) On the Command Bar, click on Page, Text Size, and the select (dot) the size you want. (see screenshot below)
NOTE: The default text size is Medium.

B) On the Menu Bar, click on View, Text Size, and the select (dot) the size you want. (see screenshot below)

3. To Override Website Font Text Size Settings in Internet Explorer
NOTE: This will allow you to use your selected text size in step 2 on all webpages, regardless of whether they've been specified by the website designer to prevent changes to text size.
A) Click on Tools and Internet Options.

B) Click on the Accesibility button. (see screenshot below)

C) Check the Ignore font sizes specified on webpages box, and click on OK. (see screenshot below)

D) Click on OK. (see screenshot below step 3B)
4. To Reset Text Size to Medium for New Windows and Tabs in Internet Explorer
A) Click on Tools, Internet Options, and the Advanced tab. (see screenshot below)

B) Check the Reset text size to medium for new windows and tabs box, and click on OK. (see screenshot above)
NOTE: Leave this box unchecked it you would prefer to always keep your text size until you manually change (step 2) it again.
5. To Reset Text Size to Medium While Zooming in Internet Explorer
A) Click on Tools, Internet Options, and the Advanced tab. (see screenshot below step 4A)

B) Check the Reset text size to medium while zooming box, and click on OK. (see screenshot below step 4A)
NOTE: Leave this box unchecked it you would prefer to always keep your text size until you manually change (step 2) it again.
6. You may need to either refresh (F5) or close and reopen Internet Explorer to see the changes.
