When you restart the PC, you will see for a very brief second or two at the bottom of the screen what key (usually ESC, DEL, or a F# key) to press to "Enter setup" (or similar) to boot into BIOS/UEFI. If you miss that brief time, you'll have to restart to try again.

Never mind. I just already did it after some help from this YouTube video:

In HP Envy series laptops, you can see the text Press ESC to enter startup options on bottom left corner when the laptop is powered on or restarted. The text will be visible only a few seconds, and you have to press the ESC button while the text is visible.

This opens the Startup Options menu where you can select various items. Pressing F10 selects and opens BIOS.

If you press ESC too late, Windows boots normally, in which case you have to reboot and try again.

Well I just came into another problem. When it reaches the end on setting it up for the first time, it says that the setup has failed. I already turned on virtualization in BIOS and uninstalled and reinstalled Windows XP Mode. After some research, I've found that Windows Virtual PC is the problem and that I must download it again; however, it won't let me because the update is not applicable. Any suggestions?

ACM,

Did you download the correct 64-bit Windows Virtual PC for your version of Windows 7?

"Not applicable" means you have downloaded wrong bit version. Your specs show a 64 bit Windows, you need a 64 bit Windows Virtual PC update file.

That's what I thought. I guess I'll permanently delete the folder and reinstall it. When I downloaded it, I selected both the x86 and x64 versions (I didn't recognize the difference between the two until much later).

Now I'm having a problem with deleting it and downloading it again. When I delete the folder under program files in the C drive, it says that I have to require permission from SYSTEM (yes it said that name in all caps). Do I have to go back to BIOS again?

Since Windows Virtual PC never installed, what are you trying to delete?

Did it have an uninstall entry in Programs and Features?
