    Hello Earl,

Sorry, the button on the far right on the taskbar cannot be removed.

Hehe, now it is greyed out for me as well (must have been from all the switching back and forth between Aero and the basic theme to get the fonts working that got him all confused :)).

Anyways, I have Aero on, everything else works, but I can't get Peek to work anymore - I even checked the registry entries.

    Oh well...

Edit: Never mind. Before I posted, I did try to switch to the default Aero theme, which did not change anything. However, after I then made some changes to the Visuall Effects via System (which oddly enough set me to the very basic theme even though I actually added effects (<- really strange)), I was then forced to again load the default Aero and it is now working. Again (same as with the fonts), I somehow get the feeling that there are two tools under the hood that work against each other.

    aero peek not working

I am getting the same issue, the option to enable on the taskbar is greyed out. I have sufficient rating 4.4 to run aero theme and indeed the aero theme is running, i have checked the registry. i have changed themes from aero to basic to aero.. no joy

Hello Jack, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Have you already checked all of the items in the red Warning box at the top of the tutorial?
