Hello Wotaewer, and welcome to Seven Forums.

No, but you could add Favorites to the places bar by adding the folder below if you like.

Hi again Brink, no, I have not been able to get this to work. I seem to be the only one. I've kind of resigned myself to the idea that it just won't happen for me.

In that case, you could use the default items but substitute one with Favorites like above instead. This way you can have folder shortcuts in your Favorites folder to select from as well.

Hi Shawn,

again a Forum Tutorial which saves so much clicking, and it can be done with
the more or less hidden Windows 7 features (Group Policy Editor) ...

It was most annoying to have the new Win 7 Common File Dialog Box with the ability
to store own favorites and then have some programs using the old XP style box, where
the defaults didn't fit my needs.

Many thanks,
Tom.

Addition :

I meanwhile worked for some hours with my older version of a popular picture editing
program, which uses the old XP box. The difference between "before" and "now" is
much bigger than I expected :

Now it's really ten times more fun to save the files.

Thanks again and some virtual hugs ...
