Thanks Jerry, I just didn't remember seeing it. It's been almost a week since I Clean Installed Windows 7. You can't expect me to remember that far back.

Ron Dow, I don't recall what you have done, but have you tried the Standalone Windows 7 SP1 installer. or tried to Reset Windows Update?

Thanks essenbe - many moons ago, I did download and use the SP1 installer - it didn't work. I didn't try an update reset. However, I did come across some evidence that M$ had been working on tools to overcome similar issues to mine and it may have been one of those that gave me success (I did add an update to my last post detailing my experience a couple of hours ago). One of the problems identified by M$ is that failure can occur if a driver cleaner (or similar) has deleted a driver without updating the 'manifest' - their remedy was released in 2014. Clearly the stumbling blocks were many and varied but now Win10 upgrading is on the table for many pre-SP1 users, more are going to find it necessary to overcome these old problems.

Windows 7 Professional x64

hey guys... I read the guide and I created a disc that has all installations, x86 and x64, and I can see that it is loaded with all installations if I launch the DVD from inside a desktop. Unfortunately, I can't boot to it. It is skipped and Windows is loaded. The two I made that have just x86 Windows 7 installations, the other being x64, both boot fine and work great with the cfg remover utility.

Like I said, the disc runs fine on my desktop environment in Windows 10, I just can't get any machine to boot to it.
