You could try doing a system restore using a restore point (if available) dated before the interrupted language was attempted to be installed to undo all of this, then see if you may be able to fully install it afterwards.

I managed to remove it by deleting its registry entries, then attempted another install. It seemed to complete without a hitch.

However, the same issue persists when trying to select the new keyboard layout. I seem to have an inconsistent state. AltLatin has an entry in the list of active keyboards but not in the actual language bar--to get the bar to show at all, I have to add a third keyboard layout (Dvorak in the screenshot), but either way I have no way of switching to AltLatin.

I've redownloaded the files several times, from different sources, so I don't think it's a corrupted install. Is there any way to pinpoint what the problem with my setup is? Thanks.

Not sure, but if you have a restore point available before this issue, it could save you time.

FIXED, ISSUE WAS FROM OLD VERSION

I found the problem. I was using an outdated version of the installer for WinNT. The Win7 version was not on the "official" site, so I had overlooked it. Here is the page (as of Oct 2012) that has all of the proper installers: Mamluk Studies Resources

I'm sorry for wasting your time, Brink, but hopefully this thread will point people in the right direction if this ever comes up in the future. Thanks for all your help...

No problem. It's not a waste of time since the solution can help others with the same issue.
